Friends In Arms was started for approximately 3 years ago by me, Lynxess. From the beginning the vision was to step back from the hardcore raiding that i was doing at the time in Genesis, and just play for fun.
This however didnīt last long. I missed the fun of progressing through instances an thus i changed the direction of the guild towards a more progressoriented path. The instance at the time that was the target for the small guild called Friends In Arms, was Karazhan. To get good ppl in the guild i ventured to all available instances, looking for players that i thought would fit in. I also drafted some of my old time raiding friends from other guilds.
Friends In Arms were soon picking up the pace and was steaming through Karazhan, gearing everybody up. Next target in sight was Naxxramas, the "floating reincarnation of the old Naxxramas in Eastern Plauguelands. The reqruiting kept on going and we started to get a good "core" of members that were always raiding and contributed to the progress. Naxxramas was designed to be quite an easy instance and so it was also for Friends In Arms. We progresse through the instance with blistering speed and finally downed KelīThuzad in 25-man mode.
We kept on doing Naxxramas and got members good geared in preparation for the next big instance to come; Ulduar.
Ulduar was the first instance that really gave us some REAL challenges. The design of the instance with hardmodes available was beeing embraced well by the members.
Progress through Ulduar began and one could immediately see that this was on a different level of difficulty compared to Naxxramas. We viped alot here :). We finally got to the last boss in 10-man, Yogg Saron. Although in 25-man mode we stopped at Mimiron because ToTc was introduced.
At this time the new instance "Argent Coliseum" was introduced by Blizzard. The decision was made to focus on this instance instead of Ulduar. And so it was done.
The Trial of the Crusader 10-man mode were soon cleared and 25-man mode was the next target. After some expensive nights with alot of repairs, Friends In Arms managed to get AnubīArak down in 25-man mode, signaling a great achievment for us as a guild. 10-man HEROIC Anub dies soon after aswell awarding us with the titel "Tribute to the MAD" since we had more than 25-attempts left.
Next is Icecrown Citadel. This next instance for raiding guilds, with 10-man and 25-man version of the loot and with the Lich King himself as the end boss.
We have now established ourselves in ICC 25-man. The LICH KING had be conquered both in 10-man AND in 25-man version. Now, hardmodes is next for us.
Further ahead, the next expansion "Cataclysm" will be launched. This will be a very big step forward and will put the guild in a more prominent role since there will be guild talent trees introduced. This will further emphasize the importance of belonging to a stable and prosperous guild.
There is a fun year ahead. Letīs make the best of it and help eachother forward.
Yours Truly
Lynxess - GM of Friends In Arms.
